This book is the result of many years of collaboration between Henrik Wenøe, Director of Acuity World, and Lieutenant Colonel Erik Schwensen, Director at ES-Leadership. It began back in 2006, when Henrik implemented a development program, focusing on personal leadership for 50 commanders, in an Armed Forces unit for which Erik was Chief of Staff.

Henrik and Erik commented on the occasion of the book’s publication:

“We still see a society where many people, on a daily basis, struggle with negative stress and involuntary restraint in negative mentally states. It is no longer enough to be physically in good shape, eat healthily and sleep well. Physical and mental states are inextricably linked, and your mental state is becoming even more important for you, in order to be able to act in the world as it is today.

With the results achieved by the Mental Fitness For Fighters program, which is increasingly supported by new scientific research results on the brain’s capacity, plasticity and its ability to heal and develop, we could not help but develop a version 2.0 “Mental Fitness for Warriors – Be Authentic”. Spread the concept and teach even more people how to create and maintain mental strength, so that they thrive in the world as it looks today. That is why we wrote this book. It is our suggestion on how you can exercise personal leadership, both in your normal everyday life and in critical situations.
